Poll Wave Pumps / Power Heads

2 MP40Ws on a 90. They are finicky and can be a bit loud if they're not lined up right. They are pricey but their customer service is good. I have both with a battery back up and I got all of it second hand at about 40-50% cost. The wetsides I got were the old design with the bad magnet...

Woke up to a full sump...

I may have my spare 9.5 you could borrow - I'm pretty close - in Moorestown. I have to swap the impeller and I ordered a new one a while back when it went and I swapped it out for the spare. I just never got around to changing it - I have to find the new impeller. I also have a 24 that I...

    Tri-color Valida - $5 frags

Perfect, thanks - I'll "browse" when I'm there. My lights are new and I haven't found a PAR meter so I'm not looking to take anything too fancy or expensive - basically just looking at frags, not colonies - because I still don't know what the lights can handle. so far montipora has done the...

    Tri-color Valida - $5 frags

Jim I'd like one. Finally have my lights up and running. Let me know if you have any other stuff on the "for sale rack" First night I could swing by would be Wednesday if you're available. Preferabbly after my kids are in bed so I don't get a lot of flack from my wife about sticking her...

68 CREE LED 3 mean well 60-48p driver parallel build

Thanks Mike - I haven't been in either in quite a while - I'll have to check them out. I suspect what I am looking for is more of a cabinet maker's specialty and not what you would find on a boat. Way back in the day, there was a place in Camden (I think) called M&E Marine - they had lots of...

    PAR meter for hire?

Thanks but I'm hoping I can find someone close by. Very nice of you to offer though. Not a big deal really, I'm just sort of curious. How do you like the seneye? Maybe that would be a better investment than a straight-up PAR meter since it does several things.

68 CREE LED 3 mean well 60-48p driver parallel build

I've never seen hinges in aluminum - maybe because I haven't looked though. I figured if it's good enough for a boat it's good enough for the stuff near the tank. Anyway I'll look for aluminim - it's softer and tends to be less strong so that may be a reason why you don't see hinges that way -...

68 CREE LED 3 mean well 60-48p driver parallel build

Thanks Paul. FWIW you were right in that I didn't **really** need the hinges to raise the lights. I have more than enough room to get in there. I guess extra accessibility can't hurt. As for the woodworking, I like how the panels came togeather better than the stand doors so I'm thinking of...

68 CREE LED 3 mean well 60-48p driver parallel build

Early FTS – the tank was about a year old here and running the coralife twin 150W HQIs and a pair of CF actinics test firing of the new LEDs - Feb 1st - I think power was white 40%, blue 40% and mixed color 30% 2/7 White 45%, Blue 50%, Colors 40% Not sure I have pics for this – maybe on the...

    Inherited 90

I think maybe we got our degrees from the same school. Anyway, we had an electrical fire at our last house so I'm a little paranoid. Add to that that I had countless warnings from people on RC when I started my light build. Electronics, amateur, and salt water go togeather like sand, cylinder...

    Inherited 90

Paul. The resistors look a little dark like they are a little cooked. The box also looks a little brown where the board is attached and around the upper conduit opening - right side. Not sure any of that is a concern but home electrical is always worth extra caution. Thought I'd mention I saw it...

    Inherited 90

Here's one of mine that looks like your picture, complete with the web it casts and these are more traditional vermitids - skinny long tubes and not coiled. both kinds cast a web, look the same when I've pulled the from their shells or seen them peek out. Both have what looks like an...

    Inherited 90

I have a ton of both variety. The larger one are more interesting looking but from what I can tell, still vermitids. I have more of the smaller ones too.

Those are vermitid snails. I started with just one. Now they are prolific as can be. I must have 200. No real harm but they are hardy and hard to eliminate so if you are concerned I'd say get them out.

    PAR meter for hire?

Anyone down south have a PAR meter they'd be willing to loan out for a small rental fee? I'm curious what my new lights are putting out thought I'd ask around before I try and buy one for a one time use. Thanks....

68 CREE LED 3 mean well 60-48p driver parallel build

thanks George. Now if I could just get the bleep-ing coral to grow. A couple shrooms and leathers and ...the hammer you gave me when I was just starting out are all I have that are doing well. I keep telling myself everything's still acclimating to the LEDs.
