Does anyone here really feel that drip acclimating your corals actually helps?
I've never... ever... drip acclimated coral and I've never lost a single one in the first few days outside of a table acro that RTN'd over night (never lost another acro besides that outside of my own mishandling or...
The one day of the year that I'm never political or anything.
I avoided this yesterday -- the media, everything -- like the plague. Still can't take listening to lots of things from that day.
RIP.
Anyone here race their car?
My father races quite often. We used to have a hobby -- ice skating and hockey. I stopped skating because my feet are beyond screwed up by being misdiagnosed for years as having flat feet (and now, subsequently, having broken bones in my feet).
So, we've been kind...
While I am still almost 100% against cleaner wrasses in tanks, they ARE being exported from countries of origin much better than they used to be. Less roughly handled, etc. I've seen them come in even to Petco and eat flakes the first day.
I've noticed this trend over the last year or so but...
Dragon wrasses eat anything and everything from experience. Had one in the past that massacred almost every single invert in the entire tank. Was a stupid purchase on my end because I didn't think he'd be able to at such a small size!
I wouldn't be too worried. I've had regular acros that didn't have PE after the first few days. As long as it's not browning out / RTN'ing or anything like that, it should be fine.
I think a bluejaw would work well in a 75. They generally stay around 6-7 inches, are zooplankton eaters (so they don't peck around the rock work generally) and aren't nearly as crazy and active as triggers like clowns, humu's, etc.
Everything that I've heard and seen about Golden Angels lends me to believe that they are almost 100% reef safe (even Wet Web Media kind of agrees with this).
This is JMO on their supposed coral eating.
I think it's bunk.
Frankly, I've never seen a single hobbyist ever have them munching their coral. I am willing to bet that 99% of these supposed coral losses from these tiny, innocent starfish are because the coral was ALREADY dying. Dying animals...
Pretty much what I figured with flames. Always heard they were a threat to LPS. One of them in the past killed a beautiful elegance of mine...
I think the decision for me is to go with a golden. Always heard good things about them. Just have to find a healthy one for less than $100. ;D
