I found yet another one!
Pictures soon. This is a different crab than the first hitch hiker.
And no, this is not new live rock. I've had it for a few months.
Keep it! You should always siphon your sand once in a while, IMO. You will only remove a bit of it and you can siphon off any gunk that accumulates on it!
Why not try the old "hide a tray of sand somewhere in the tank" trick so they can sleep at night. If you can hide it in the back somewhere, it'd be out of sight, too!
Being that my father's main client is News Corp, I was beta testing Hulu for a while.
Gotta say, it's come a long, long way since then. Much faster load times, obviously much more content, etc etc. Hated it back in the beta stage, but I'm a huge fan of it now.
I should've asked you this while I was there (meant to, but your tank made my mind go to jelly). Are you planning on selling your Banggai babies eventually?
I could imagine. That's the only reason I didn't order live rock fresh from the sea a while back. Otherwise, I would've. Just don't have the patience for the hitch hikers.
One crab and a few small white spots on a maricultured coral make me furious enough. Imagine me trying to find...
I finally found what was causing one of my acroporas to have a few white spots on it.
Found a small Xanthid crab on it just a bit ago. Was the same size as the spots and was happily picking away on the acro.
Found a new home in the refugium for him, as I didn't feel like killing him outright...
To me, he does business the way it should be.
Doesn't get in your face asking you about this and that.
Will answer any question you have and talk all day long -- but only if you make the initiative, which is good as there are some people out there who just won't shut up when you want them to...
Re: Jasonanatal's JBJ 28 gallon Nano Cube HQI Nano Reef Aquarium Update.
Aquatic Obsessions has 2 of them right now. I think they are only charging $50 for them and they are a club sponsor.
I used the stock bulb that came with my CADLights tank. It was pretty yellow. Pretty ugly. Switched it out to a simple JBJ bulb (or whoever makes THEIR stock bulbs) and the corals grew better and the color was much nicer.
I've never QT'd corals (though I'm so adamant on it on fish, which is somewhat ironic) and haven't had any problems... yet. I would agree, though, that they should obviously be QT'd.
I think that dripping corals is pretty much a waste of time and energy. I'd rather spend 2-3 hours doing...
