Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
It could've been, but it's the only thing I can think of due to the fact that my tap water has little to no chlorine in it and that we were using it to clean up near where the salt was.
I think it was an accident. We've been cleaning the crap out of the store lately due to lots of visits from the Regional Manager (not that we have a dirty store in Howell, quite the contrary!). Pretty sure that the bag was slightly open when we were cleaning and a bit of bleach that we were...
I figured out what it was, Phyl.
It was a bag of salt I picked up at work. There was a minor defect in the bag (slight hole).
Well, I usually take the salt that is ripped open or a hole poked in it. I used that to do the change.
I smelt the bag today since I wanted to take a look at the salt...
I have been. Everything looks good salinity wise and levels wise. Pristine as it was before. Just with lots of particulate matter and dead SPS tissue flying around the tank. :'( :'( :'(
And it was completely my fault. Routine water change. Had the water mixed up for a few days and added the salt in last night. My dumb self forgot to check to see if it was mixed completely.
Poured it in and out comes TONS of un-mixed salt. Lost about $450 worth of acros (possibly more to...
That's a huge bio load for an 80g tank, IMO.
Frankly, I'd reduce the angels by 2 of them and possibly another.
Especially in a reef tank.
I'm actually shocked you don't have World War III on your hand with 3 dwarf angels! :o
Makes sense. I've been reading up on it for a long time now and I think I'm ready to take the plunge. Pretty sure I'll have to use the TLF reactor until I upgrade in the future -- again -- to a larger tank.
The problem is that I have to have a HOTB reactor. I don't have a below tank sump and I can't drill it since it's an all in one (CADlights tank).
I have read of a few people using the TLF reactors simply because you can turn it off and open it to stir/shake the rocks. You have to do that a few...
Well, most pop-eye is (unless it looks infected).
If you see only 1 eye effected, it's almost guaranteed that the fish bumped into something and it can be treated with Epsom salt.
If both eyes are popped, than it's likely something else (though still can be generic pop-eye).
I've kept:
Hardy Anthias:
Pseudanthias bartlettorum
Pseudanthias parvirostris
Pseudanthias squamipinnis
Serranocirrhitus latus
Non-hardy Anthias:
Pseudanthias dispar
The dispar that I had all died within a few weeks.
Squampinnis anthias are extremely hardy but also extremely territorial...
New Life Spectrum pellets.
That is the food of choice for any saltwater fish that will eat it. You won't find a more nutritionally complete food on the market.
That and frozen foods.
Might as well get rid of the brine. It's pretty much worthless, nutritionally.
