Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I doubt anyone really makes the connection of sunscreen = to tank problems.
The shark touch tanks at the aquarium have supersized skimmers for the summer months and the products people wear on their hands.
RKL Level 3: ($279) does everything you would like it to do, has a usb interface and 8 outlets.
You could also go with 2x RKL level 1, but then you wouldn't have the pH monitoring, but gain a spare head unit. Add in a couple float switches for ATO as well.
Though if you can get either used...
A canopy can make it look larger than it is too. Though near your other tank, that might be difficult.
Anyway more inspiration...

Is the 6 fixture the tek shown in the picture? If it is it will very much meet your lighting needs.
Maybe consider adding a sqwd to the closed loop to reduce the flow and change things up a little bit as well.
Maybe a Fiji biotope?
It's really new iirc. Most lfs are still awaiting their first shipment as well. From what I hear though it's supposed to be really good.
Premium Aquatics claims it tested at this for a fresh batch:
Ion

Sulfate - 2,711.5
Sodium - 10,770
Magnesium - 1,288
Calcium - 413...
If you skimmer pump is leaking voltage and current into the tank, then replacing the pump is the better fix action.
If your skimmer is new enough it may be under warrenty still. Do you know what type of pump it is?
Edit:
Though, yes petsmart/petco/AO normally does carry ground probes...
