Consider this a PSA about what not to do if your tank smells funky. I read this thread on R2R and was dying.

Metal halides can provide a lot of power and penetration deep into the tank. But often they're supplemented with LEDs or T5s to get better color. Some of this also depends of how big an area of coverage you need.
I would strongly consider this which is for sale on Craigslist. Guy lives in Morristown. I think JBJ actually designed this to go on their Nanocubes in the past. Older technology, but metal halide will grow anything (and this one's really cheap!)

I bought this 28 gallon JBJ NanoCube with Stand from a fellow member (mbenton) back in the fall. Paid $125 for those and Paulie paid $25 for Larry the Hermit. I've decided I won't be setting this up anytime soon and would prefer to move in on to somebody who could use it. So I'm selling the...
Looks like there's a guy on R2R posting that he had an ich outbreak and is giving away all his fish. Stuff needs to be QT'd obviously, but it might be a good deal for someone who's interested... Located in Boonton it seems.

Are you dosing Maracyn or Maracyn Oxy? Maracyn contains erythromycin but the Maracyn Oxy doesn't. Neither does Maracyn 2. So you'd want to find either Maracyn or API erythromycin.
I know Absolutely Fish up here has it for sure. I also have some if you needed it.
From what I've read, unilateral...
Anyone else interested? I still have an order and a half left. Should be arriving by around midday tomorrow (Wednesday). Half order has 1000 pods for $20, full order is 2000 pods for $40.
I found out last minute that Aquarium Depot was running their "Buy 1000/Get 1000 Free" offer on amphipods and copepods again. Since the offer was expiring, I just placed an order to get it in in time. I had to get over $150 for free shipping so I'll have some extra pods if anybody wants in...
Really? Were you looking at larger colonies? I saw plenty of single head Dragon Souls around $150. Rastas around that price as well. Less colorful torches were cheaper too.
Clammania was there as well as Pacific East. A few other vendors with clams too. But definitely some stuff was selling out too. Was disappointed that there weren't more fish. Mainly Salgado and WetPets, that's it. Lots of people there but a few less vendors than usual. Some vendors even had...
Always amazed how relatively simple corals can look so impressive once they're grown out to full-sized colonies. A couple heads of candy cane coral look like nothing, but large colonies are really cool.
A big reason that people buy from the companies is to get clean macro from a fish-free system, guaranteed to be pest-free. If you can get something like that going, you'll have people lining up to buy.
