Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Unscrew the injector and clean it good with a bottle brush. Unscrew the air control valve and soak it in vinegar. Many times the air valve is not letting enough air in, and a large cleaning further jambs it up as large chunks of junk fly loose. I used to own a EV-180, so I am quite familar with...

Jim, the stated distance officially from Neptune is 15'. That being said, if you make a new cable using Ethernet Twisted pair, you can get huge distances. There are many reports of > 50ft. I have 4 devices in line on mine with 20ft between each, so from the AC3 to the last DC4 I have almost...
That will work fine. I also have the JBJ and it works like a change. The only difference is I go to a 55 Gallon Drum. So I manually turn on the water feed to the RODI and let it fill up the 55 resevior. Then I turn off the water source, this way the JBJ ATO to the tank does cause the RODI to...
It is never a good idea to run directly from the RODI unit to the sump. The small constant on/off of the RODI doesn't all it to be very efficient, and you will burn through DI at a fast rate. That is because the first few minutes of start RODI the membrane isn't efficient.
Have the RODI feed a...
Testing PH in RO/DI water with a TDS near zero is almost impossible to do with any accuracy, since there aren't enough ions to get a correct reading. The equipment needed to test for it is very expensive.
Since there are almost no ions, the water will take on the PH of whatever it is mixed to.
With the availability of generic Phosphate media (You just missed the closing of our Group buy on GFO/Phosban - $36 for 5 lbs), it is not as important to make it last as long as possible like it was when it was $20 for 150ML.
So if your not sure, change it once a month. You could go 3 months...
Kalk over doses are common accident, but generally never fatal, its the over reaction that makes it worse. Generally all you have to do is stop adding anything and it will come down all by itself. The parcipitate will dissolve by itself. PH will drop withing a few hours.
You need to test the water at 3 points as a baseline to figure out if everything is working.
1. TDS of the raw water before going to first filter.
2. TDS of water after membrane but before DI. This should be 97-98% of the #1 reading
3. TDS after DI, this should be ZERO.
Keep in mind, if you...
Curt says no, since the new K units are 12 Volt AC with no power supply connection. If could only happen if they Neptune totally created a new power supply and control unit.
My mating clown pair, Godzilla and Natashia, are coming up on 7 years. I used to breed clowns. Just like the real world, dominate clowns are always female.
That works well for Freshwater tanks, since you generally keep a lower temperature, and the large temp change does slow it down. But at the already higher temps of Saltwater tanks, it doesn't help much unless you are going to go very high (above 85), and then you corals are really not going to...
The Extreme Pro 6 bulb unit is getting a lot of praise. This is Nova's first unit that has individual reflectors on the builbs.
Nova's stock bulbs are a bit flat. I change them out almost immediatly to:
Front
ATI Blue Plus
UVL Aquasun
ATI Blueplus
ATI Procolor
ATI Blueplus
UVL 75/25
ATI...
