John, very good chance it was the iodine dips. Softy's can react to minute amounts introduced to the tank. Standard doses are around 1 drop per 25 gal of water, strong stuff.

Recommended actions- Turkey blaster, hit them good then see if they open.
Iodine dip, 8 drops in a bowl, wait 5 min, swoosh the frag around, dip in clean water,
