    MH LIGHTING AKA GROW LIGHTS

5000 to 5500 kelvin range. I tried them, they are the closest to the sun's kelvin range but as you guys mentioned are better suited for plants. There is a larger spike in the red range which tends to make everything yellower, red does not penetrate into the water column; one of the reasons why...

Re: Need Help with AquaC EV skimmer

I used to have that skimmer too. Sometimes small bits of rock and/or snail shells, corals or grit get lodged in the injection spout. Make sure that stays clean as well. -merv

    adding crushed coral

they will work to a certain extent, but crushed coral, due to their looser structure will have a tendency to trap detritus in them. Ya gots to be pretty vigilant in keeping it tidy. I'm too lazy for that, so I like it bald :)

i don't really know if GARF really does research as they say they do. It seems more like a cover name to sell frags at a premium. How come you just didn't wanna buy frags locally? We have a ton of locals and sponsors who sell some awesome pieces, some for a fraction of the cost, some of which...

    help ,.........algea out break

so yah, here's my tank of shame. I switched out the lights in November as well, I got some used reeflux 12k's from tom since I wanted to try bluer bulbs. I've always had Iwasaki 6500's and even though they were great for growth, color was eh- BUT if you notice, the reduction of excess organics...

    help ,.........algea out break

    help ,.........algea out break

somehow, your description is like "old tank syndrome" I'd search on that topic online, it usually occurs on tanks with older live rock and sandbeds. I kinda went through something very similar as I had used the same "old" rock from my first setup many years ago. Got it cleaned up now, but it...
