Let's see how many people have visited this place and if you remember where :)
Vodka is supposedly used to lower the nitrate and phosphate content in any environment, not just tanks that are BB. The Vodka supposedly feeds certain bacteria which supposedly feeds on the excess nitrates and phosphates. There are actually a few tanks that have Sandbeds (like the RC December...
The lights are 12K reeflux halides and 4-T5's 2 actinics, 1 blue and 1 procolor which makes the reds/oranges pop in the tank. Camera is set at 8300K on the color scale
Mixture of grated shrimp, fish, clams, squid, daphnia, mosquito larva and bloodworms. No LFS near me carries live blackworms...
This is true, so it is up to us to take some of these recommended "fixes" and create something that will work for you. Slower changes are better in the long run, stability is the overlying theme for any reef tank, softy or hard or fowlr. Your tank did not start out with a high nitrate content as...

If it's a new tank, I don't see why you can't cycle it in there. A very little waterplug goes a looooong way if used correctly and sparingly. BUT I would cure it in a tub if you already have inhabitants in the tank.
The strength of the structure will come from the frame of plastic coat hangers...
Hey Jim, could you describe me your water replenishment setup, and is the reefgeek ATO the same as the JBJ Autotopoff? I utilized my JBJ for something a little different and it works pretty good, never had it stick.... and I have a float valve as a redundancy backup too
