Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
It seems like certain types of anemones split and take over much quicker than others. Not all bubble tips are equal either. My rainbow BTAs divided like crazy, eventually overrunning my tank. On the other hand, the high end BTAs like Colorados, Chicagos, Black Widows, etc. don't seem to do that...
This is true. And some dealers have pushed their prices up accordingly. However, I bought an extra yellow tang at SeaLevel for $100 this past weekend (which was their old price). Ocean Gallery in North Plainfield still has a bunch of them as of yesterday. I think they may have been $120. There's...
Way to jerry rig something! I know some people on Reef2Reef and Etsy sell some 3D printer mushroom baskets that have covers on them to prevent floating away. One of them was in northern Jersey the last time I checked.
I don't think it hurts to run another MarinePure block. I know they tout all sorts of fancy benefits but I don't know understand it all - I have no clue what the difference is between the regular one and the phosphate removing one. But I basically treat them as superporous live rock that you can...
Agreed that some fish may survive with immunity but you gotta rid them of the velvet. Tank will have to go 6 weeks fallow. If you don’t want to medicate the survivors, maybe consider TTM for them at least? That should be able to rid them of any remaining velvet that they’re carrying.
Looks great Mike! Congrats on those G5’s! And I agree with swapping the socks for the media cups - you can put Chemipure bags in there, use filter floss that you can just chuck, etc. And using the MarinePure allows you to get away with less live rock in the DT, preserving you cool aquascape...
Sorry to hear about this. I've had it happen to me and it sucks. But I was able to save a few of the fish. Do a freshwater or Ruby Reef dip to knock down the parasite load. Then throw them in a QT with either Copper or CP. I would run a UV on the QT at the same time to make sure to kill anything...
Hello,
Looking to purchase (or trade equipment for) a JBJ RL-20L all-in-one frag tank. I know this tank was discontinued a few years ago but was wondering if anyone still had one. Would also consider other similar small AIO shallow frag tanks. If possible, would want a stand as well. Please...
There shouldn't be any issue in terms of compatibility with the heater and the Inkbird controller. The Inkbird design is fairly basic - it's just a temp probe and a couple outlets that are controlled by the temp probe depending on what you programmed the settings to be. If you plug the Inkbird...
I think that crab is essentially an emerald crab. Emerald crabs are green mithrax crabs. That looks like a red mithrax that you have there. You see them occasionally for sale. It's missing a few limbs and a claw, but has that same specialized pincer that they use to grab algae strands.
