Just a heads up to everyone that Rusalty is running a special for peppermint shrimp at $4.25 each. You do have to buy a lot of 40 at a time to get that price though, plus they tack on about $10 for handling and you'll need to make some other small add-on purchase to get over $175 for the free...
Just a heads up for something being sold on ManhattanReefs:
For Sale - $50 90g RR (manhattanreefs.com)
Seems like a pretty good deal and I heard that 90 gallons are hard to come by right now. Gotta drive out to Forest Hills though.
Hello,
I have this huge piece of Pukani (about 20 lbs) with a lot of rainbow BTAs on it (at least 18 ranging in size up to 7-8”). It also has a patch of Superman monti on it though the BTAs have knocked it back a bit.
I would like $550 or best offer for it. Would also be open to potential...
Hello,
Just cleaning out the basement and have a couple tanks to give away. First is a 20 gallon high (24 x 12 x 16). The second is a 15 gallon high (20 x 10 x 18).
Here's the catch. The glass looks good on both of them though the 15 gallon may have a small slow leak and therefore needs to be...
Welcome to the club and the hobby! Your equipment list looks about right - heater, pumps, skimmer, light, ATO. Really not much more that you need to get going. If you're interested in some live rock, I can sell you some smaller pieces as well as some beginner corals. You can take some chaeto if...
I'm located in Florham Park, NJ. You can have chaeto for free if you can get up here. I'm sure it'll even have some of the pods that I just dumped in from that Aquarium Depot order...
Guess it depends on what pods you're looking for. Looks like AlgaeBarn Ecopods are a blend of 4 different types of copepods. The pod package from Aquarium Depot is a mix of amphipods and copepods, and they don't really specify what the species of the copepods are. I can barely see the copepods...
Definitely go with an Inkbird at a minimum. There are some more expensive controllers but the Inkbird is probably the cheapest. Redundancy is your friend and it’s the controller that would save you from a heater that gets stuck on. 2 heaters only saves you if one of them fails. But if you had...
Plenty of things can startle fish besides another fish chasing them. I've had fish jump when there was nothing else in the tank. Lights coming on, someone walking by, etc... Certain species (including gobies, jawfish, and wrasses) are the most prone to doing this.
