Maxijet SureFlow Mod vs Korallia vs Tunze Nano Stream

I own 7 Korallia pumps of various sizes and I think they are awesome. But I seen a couple of Members using the Maxijet Sure flow Mod kits and I have to be honest, the soft start function and programability of the Maxijets is something I like so much more than the Koralia's ability to just stay...

So not true... if you didn't do a great job with the tank then the corals stand no chance... you gotta take some credit. ;)

    RO System at Costco.com

It's actually a weird situation. The RO from Costco is just that RO... which is good to drink. The ones we use for our tanks are RODI .... which is really bad to drink. Without getting too technical the DeIonization that goes on in the RODI strips the water to it's barest/emptiest form. When...

    Low PH problem

LMAO ... As far as your low PH I have the same issue ... I'm getting a Kalk reactor soon. But in the meantime what I've been doing is everytime I do a 30gallon water change (Once a Week) I raise the Ph in the change water to 8.25 with a Reef Buffer. I test my dKH, Mag and Calcium and I've...

    RO System at Costco.com

Agree with Carlo. It's a nice unit for drinking water but for reefkeeping it may be hard to work with. AWI has some really nice stuff and we're wrapping up the AWI group by on Friday so you have 2 days to post an order if you're a member and interested.

    Powder brown tangs

I have a Desarjini and a Hippo also. The Achilles was the biggest but the Desarjini is passing him quickly ... they are fine now but, when the Desarjini passes him, I can tell there will be problems with the two of them.

    Powder brown tangs

John I was gonna break my tank down and rework the rock soon. I was gonna keep all my fish in a Oceanic 58 gallon 3'x18"x20 while I moved the rock and removed the sand. I have an Achilles tang and what you just said about the ich is making me think twice. I would be crushed if I lost my...

tanks ok a couple days with no food?

Unless there is a specific species that requires multiple feedings per day (seahorse for example) You should be fine with 3 days of no food. I think the last time I fed my reef was 2 days ago. I feed my seahorse tank twice a day though.

    Powder brown tangs

I think people label fish as difficult to keep or hard to keep so they can feel better about themselves after the fish dies. People need to take that extra step at the LFS and make sure the fish is healthy and eating, make sure the fish has been in the store for more than a couple days, and...

    High Alkalinity

Salifert is rumored to have a bad batch of kits.... some stores can't even get them because they may go out of business.... just what I heard.

    Powder brown tangs

What kind of bad news? The only thing I know, negative, about Powder Browns is that they are agressive.... but so are Achilles Tangs SailfinTangs Sohal Tangs Powder Blue Tangs Dussumieri Tangs Yellow tangs Purple Tangs Whiteface Tangs Clown Tangs etc... etc...
