Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Do you know for a fact your salinity monitor/hydrometer is dead accurate?
If not it's quite possible that it reads low and you are well under 1.020 which isn't good. This is to low IMHO even for a couple of days in our tanks. In nature some of the corals in lagoons experience high and low...
You don't want it to tumble at all. All you want to see is the column of Phosban lift up a little in the reactor and you're good. You may see a little movement at the very top but no tumbling.
If you get it to rough very tiny particles break off and agitate the corals.

Sorry major TYPO on my part there. I meant 1.5 teaspoons TOTAL instead of 1 teaspoon.
Boy that could have been bad! I'm glad someone was thinking properly!

Side Note: Watch your Alkalinity. On smaller systems many people have noticed a drop in alk using Phosban. It's not a problem, but just something to be aware of.
Couple of questions for you. How much did you use and what's your total water volume?
How much flow do you have going through the...
It's tough for some and easier for others. I've had good luck doing this. In my tank I have 2 true percs, 2 osc percs, 2 larger clarkiis and 2 yellow striped maroons. They were added in that order. I had the 1st 3 pairs in a 120g and then in a 44g and now in a 265g. I added the maroons to the...
Re: 2008 Meeting Schedule
That's pretty funny. All the central spots are filled but not one north or south.
Central/North, Central/South anyone? :)
Still got plenty of time to fill in the slots.

Looking good Wendy.
In the last picture, Yellow Polyps, is that aptasia growing in with the polyps? Kind of hard to tell from that particular view.
Your Millis are looking awesome!

OK lets setup the drip again and use 1.5 teaspoons of baking soda per gallon of drip. After 24 hours give us your pH, Alk and Calcium numbers. Make sure to get the Ca this time as we'll need to start working on balancing CA/Alk.
You're still low on Alk at this point but much closer to NSW then...
If it started right after the light change you probably have your answer. Did you cut back on the light an hour or so a day, raise the lights or put a shade cloth/screen over the tank when changing bulbs? If not it's probably the light intensity and spectrum change.
Besides the lights, any...
I use a lot of 6.5Ks Merv. Can't get better then that for growth.
I myself think it looks more "natural" then all the blue too. But it does take getting used to.
