Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
If the section with the filter sock is the "input" section you could throw cheato in that. Basically you can put it anywhere but you don't want it getting stuck/clogging the return pump.
You could probably throw some cheato in the first compartment and add a clip on light fixture with a daylight bulb to your current sump. If you decided to sell it NO problem as you didn't bother the stucture at all and the light will come right off.

lithivm, that's the pump "AquaLifter" I've been talking about in the Kalk dose thread and now this thread since it was split. :)
You're right, it's a cheap pump and they work super well. Prices seem to range between $9 and $14 depending on where you get them from. I recently bought a 4 pack for...
:)
You won't be sorry. You'll have a lot of fun at the monthly meetings and will meet some really great people too.
If you purchase corals/fish from any of our sponsored vendors you can easily save more in discounts a year then the membership fee. It's a WIN/WIN situation.

Re: Best way to drip Kalk?
Yes that one of the good things about most peristaltic pumps, they can run dry with no problems.
mott768, I'm not trying to argue a point. I probably wasn't clear in my explanation of the "siphon problem/issue" I was talking about and in your setup you won't have...
I agree with RichT that 2 & 4 are montipora digita sps
The first looks like a Platygyra Brain Worm Coral
The third looks like a blue/green Favites spp
I would typically classify them all as "moderate" lighting. Digita should be fine in the top 1/3 of the tank under PCs while the Platygyra and...
Chemistry looks good.
How old are your bulbs and what type of lighting do you have?
Do you notice any hair algae growing in the tank?
Do you by any chance have a phosphate test kit? If so what reading do you get?
Have you recently added ANYTHING to the tank?

Re: Best way to drip Kalk?
I agree the aqualifters aren't going to push water that far. They aren't designed to do that. I believe they have something like a 2.5 foot head height but most of mine have easily done 5' head heights. When I recommended the aqualifter I wasn't thinking he would...
Not bad, but for less then $25 locally you can get the pump, timer, tubing and valve. Almost everyone has a bucket laying around and many will already have a valve, tubing & timer laying around and will only need to buy the cheap $10 pump.
BTW, I'm not saying this is the best way to go, just a...
GregW nailed that one.
Every meeting has several types of beer. Meetings are once a month usually at a fellow reefer's house. Usually everyone brings a "covered dish" or beer to the meetings.
Beer, Reef Talk, Beer, Frags, Beer, Meeting Agenda, Beer, Raffle, Beer, you get the idea!

Now...
If we could get a professional photographer who knows digital macro photography then that would be great. If not we have a ton of talent inside the club already.
Just a thought but if we were to bring someone in, it might be best to do a couple internal classes first to help the newbies get up...
