The "rack" was only a temp solution so I just "rigged" it up with some material laying around. It was only setup that way for a week or two at most. All those frags in the pictures along with others are sitting in 3 20L tanks at present. The tank those frags were in is now my 125 gallon refugium...
I almost went through something similar as I had a corner house and my mailbox was on "front" of my house while my driveway was on side of the house. Some township genius decided that everyone's address should be where there driveway was.
I contacted my title company and was told I didn't need...
I run a dual chamber sulphur denitrator and should be able to answer any questions you guys have about them. I've been running them for a couple of years now both with and without sulphur. I've went through all the constant regulation and feeding problems/issues and have finally come up with...
mladencovic that was the best short description of a refugium I think I've ever read. You covered more information then most full length articles on refugiums.
Great post and follow up answer!

Be careful, as the hydors aren't meant to be controlled by conventional wave makers including the Neptune boxes.
Just to clarify, a conventional wavemaker will typically turn pumps on and off ever 30 seconds to a couple of minutes to get a wave effect (back and forth motion). This type of on...
It's possible to have a high pH, alk and calcium all at the same time especially if the salinity is high. If the alk is on the high side there would be plenty of buffers in the water and combined with low CO2 you get a pH on the high side.
So while it's possible, it's not likely since he has a...
I'm with Phyl. You can get all the help you need in these forums and you'll learn a lot in the process and be much better off in the long run.
Phyl asked all the key questions but I've got a couple more for you:
How much sand do you have in the tank (weight or in inches)?
What test kits do you...
Ahh, yea I could see things being problematic without a controller. The ORP probes still do the drift routine over a period of a couple months. They need to be cleaned every couple of weeks to help keep accurate readings as any organic file buildup on the probe will give you high readings. The...
This is my first picasso and he's on the small size compared to my clown and black Hawaiian trigger but I'm able to pick him up with my hands to move him to different QT tanks. He's roughly the size of a typically Hawaiian Flame Angel at present.
It's funny, in my aggressive tank my drawf lion...
DaveK,
Curious what type of problems did you have with ozone?
What trouble would there be that you experienced? Normally it's a set & forget type setup.
I wouldn't really agree that the skimmer makes that much difference in Salt water applications. Unlike fresh water applications the contact...
My 9 year old son said it looks like a giant filter.
I have no idea but it looks like your trying to do something with combinations of air and water? Mixing or separating perhaps?
Carlo
PS Is this for an aquarium or something else?
Several people on here use ozone, myself included.
Ozone units create ozone in "air" not water. So what you do is use some type of "reactor" to mix the air with water. You can purchase dedicated reactors to do this but most people use their skimmer to inject ozone. The skimmer is actually ideal...
Non of the tanks are done yet so I've been waiting. I guess I should just post what I have in Tale of the Tank since that's what it's for. I just picked up another display tank from Billy over the weekend as well as more rock from Steven so I've got more plumbing to do. :)
The pics I was...
Got ya. You need to be carefull so that the cheato doesn't clog up/get stuck in the skimmer pump too.
It's worth a try, but you may find you need a different sump if you want to do a "decent" fuge in it without issues/hassles.
