Hlle can definitly be caused from carbon but in my experience it is usually caused from poor diet or medications like copper. Once a fish developed HLLE the only way I was able to stop and reverse it was to move it to a new tank and soak food in zoe and selcon. I realize your probablly not...
Yikes. They are definitly coral eaters. Will destroy LPS and softies. With SPS they will pick off the polyps so you may n ok t have any polyp extension. I experimented with multiple Chaetodon butterflies and the only one that was remotely s ock somewhat reef safe was the spotfin butterfly...

Brown jelly disease can be infectious. Once a coral is infected any heads that are not affected need to be fragged immediately. After fragging it needs to go through an iodine dip. Wish I had better news for you. Be super careful when pulling out of your tank and make sure the jelly parts...
