The trident doesn't really do anything for me I don't feel like you need to test calcium and magnesium every day. I test calcium once a week and magnesium twice a month. Now if the trident tested alk, nitrate and phosphate then I would be all about it.

I test alk pretty much every day with my hanna checker. I've been kicking around the idea of picking up a alk Monitor. I like the price of the guardian and the reviews for it seem pretty good. Just wonder if anyone on here has one and how do you like it.

Couple weeks ago I hooked up my old co2 scrubber to try and bump my ph up from 7.89 at night and 8.01 during the day. Man did it work my ph is 8.3 during the day and 8.10 at night. My alk consumption went from 30mls a day to 75mls a day. Corals are looking really happy and growth has picked up...

If your going mainly Lps you don't need much they like lower light.

I think a led hybrid setup is the best lighting for a reef tank right now in my opinion.

How many t5 bulbs depends on how wide your rank is. If its between 20 to 24 inches you could do a 6 bulb if its 24 and over you could go with an 8 bulb. When I ran just t5s i used ati blue plus and coral plus. Now that I run a t5 led hybrid I just use ati blue plus.
