Did you use wall anchors- I'm leaning toward four 16" wall/ shelf brackets and hang the lights from the shelf- put some old coral skeletons on top- got some nice pieces- purple, pink, red and more
For a 40, if you want to move water along with fish/rock/coral I'd get 5 or 6 5 gallon buckets with lids- you'll still have to make at least 10 gallons of new water- you could also buy a Brute can and make most of the water- a pump and heater for sure. Like I said before I'd get new sand. I...
Shouldn't be a problem- I'm old but can handle a 40B ok- but help is always better- I'd make some saltwater beforehand too- better to have too much than not enough- do you have an extra heater to heat the water you make
What size tank? Apartment, ground floor? As far as fish/ rock/ corals- buckets with lids are best- hope you saved some from the salt you/we buy- or you can buy them from Lowes/ Home Depot, that way you can save much of your water- dump the sand/substrate- buy new
I checked and not available locally- I have 40lbs of live sand for the 75g- should be good for 1 inch- may buy another 10lbs of dry sand from Petco to make another 1/2 inch- not sure if I want to go to 2"
I have 2 Relassy 165w and a Kessil A350w I plan to use on my 75g- the Kessil has it's own gooseneck. My plan is to mount/ hang the 2 Relassy 'sideways' on either side of the Kessil- they are 12" wide/deep- can I just use a 12" shelf bracket with the cables that came with them or is there a...
I'm hoping to get my 75g up and running in the next week- transferring the rock from a 29g and 30g- adding live sand. fish I have now are a fiji devil, a pink damsel (if it survives dealing with the devil) 2 talbot damsels, a yellow ( not yellow at all ) dotty, a yellow tail and sharknose...
I've built several in-tank sumps without using glue, just silicone and all were/are fine- not 100% waterproof but good enough- this time I'll be using both- weld-on 13 and silicone
I did a test today with superglue- gel seemed to set quicker, regular set fine too- I wouldn't use it where a seal is needed, but it seemed like it would be fine to set pieces/sheets initially for a more permanent seal later
