I may be off, but I think I remember a post with a nice piece of rock with leathers in the beginning- not the right stuff for a new tank. I needed months before I could keep leathers alive. Another post had your cleanup crew dying- you don't need a clean up crew until you have algae- Maybe...
I couldn't trade or give away the pink damsel that was harassing the fish in my 40. I'm getting closer to getting the 75 up and running, so I moved it to the 30 today with a Fiji devil and a yellow dotty in it- it's a bit stressed out- already has a nip or two out of it's tail and is swimming on...
I don't know what went wrong the first time, but larger tanks are easier to maintain for me- less topping off, easier to keep an eye on parameters. Maybe you rushed the 15g along too quickly the first time- patience is the key in this hobby
If you still have the 15g, why not switch to that. Do not switch the sand- toss it- I'd make or buy new water, get the tank temps and salinity to match and then move your rock and corals- I'd stick with zoas and the gsp, maybe add a kenya tree and/ or xenia and let it mature for a while before...
I pulled all the rock out of the 13g to remove/ treat for bubble algae and found this on one when I turned it over- one pic is the whole underside- the other is cropped to show 'it'
Pulled all the rock out of the 13g today, scraped and treated with peroxide- more bubble algae than I thought- not sure if I got it all- reset all the zoas- will most likely rescaping for a couple of days. I have a feeling that I didn't get all the algae and will eventually have to treat with...
Adam's is more of an animal pet shop- some fresh water tanks in the front- salt water all the way in the back- Like I said before, old school- pvc pipes in the bare bottom tanks- only bright lights are in the tanks with coral- no small frags- tanks have post it notes on them when the fish came...
Adam's Pet Safari in Chester usually has Anthias- old school pet shop- but clean and healthy fish- marks when the fish came in on tanks- good luck finding a pair of watchman. Mike in Parsippany has Peppermint shrimp ( advertises on craigslist- has nice coral frags too)
Right now all I see are maybe a dozen scattered around the 13g- I'm going to start out with removal of the rocks/ scrape and treat with peroxide to start- if it shows up in the 40, I may have to treat- hopefully I won't have to treat the 13 at all- and yeah, I got the marine one- says it's safe...
I noticed some bubble algae on frags the rock in my 13g. I plan to take the rock out, scrape it and treat with peroxide- wondering if i should treat with Vibrant or just keep an eye on the tank- some of the rock/frags came from my 40b- now I'm wondering if it's in there too, but just not visible...
Right now I have 4 tanks- a 13g, the 29cube, a 40b and a 30l. The plan was to move the rock and fish from the cube and 30l to the 75- the 13 is a pico with a couple of small fish and some zoas, the 40b is set as far as fish go- I just don't have a lot of coral- some zoas/palys- kenya, gsp a...
@nightmarepl has a 32cube for sale- I just have to get my head straight- I have everything I need for the 75g to get it up and running- stocking it will be a problem
Setback with the 75g- have some major work that needs to be done on my furnace- the tank will not be available right away- I may have to rethink about selling it now and hold off and try craigslist- I hate backing out on any promise- have to get my finances in order
