Maybe, a Kole or Tomini, but for the most part Tangs need a lot of space. If you look at what their adult size is you will get an idea. Most of the most attractive/more sought after tangs get very large, most people don't realize that when they buy them since they are still very small.
Actually I would think it would be better to start with a new set up and allow everything to cycle together. But, I think you would need a continuing source of nutrients to maintain them. If you have an established tank there will be a transition between the two methods, since it will take some...
