Lost power today for about 2 hrs- no reason- no wind, just a steady rain. My battery operated bubblers with auto turn on with power outage kicked in, everybody/thing are fine, but had to make pasta and meatballs on the grill- beer and wine stayed cool
I have/had tanks that look totally different visually but are very close in volume and the fish react to the totally different seascapes. Comparing my 29g hex, 28g cube and 30gl, the fish are leas territorial in the long tank- I think because their territory is horizontal, along with open space...
Just wondering what information is asked for in order to turn someone away from the group- I don't remember anything being too invasive when I registered
So far Dick is being a perfect tank mate- but he does have full size yellow dotty and lawnmower to keep him in place- they chased the falco hawk outa town/ outa tank ( not missed ). The firefish has come out of hiding and the black bar is no longer climbing the walls literally in the cube, so...
Got that right- when I first saw an adult I thought it was some sort of an angel- I like my Springers and Talbots though- you can have at least 2 in any size tank
I've got damsels in all 3 tanks-2 have Springers- can't go wrong with them- just small- under 2"- in the 40 they are in with a pink damsel- bit of an ass- may have to rehome it at some pint- the third tank has 2 Talbots- also easy going/ smaller- where the Fiji is now- guess I'll see how they...
Dick, my Fiji devil was a total ass in the 29 cube-so now it's in the 30l- behaving himself so far- all from that tank will eventually get moved to the 75g
I keep thinking about this, and keep coming up with obstacles/ problems- not that I can't figure a way around / through it- for now I'll just keep to what I do know works for me - an in tank sump
Educate me- in my mind a sump is fed by gravity and the size of the pipe determines the downward flow- the return pump has to equal that- so it doesn't matter if the tank is drilled or not- you just don't want to lose flow if there is a power outage
One has a 2" pvc pipe with cuts for an overflow with a 1" inside, over the top with some elbows like a sink to keep water in the line- basic design makes sense to me- just need to check it out more
Just thinking, by @diana a armpit rule :D - I got 53 ", ( I don't want to have to stand on a step for maintenance ) less the height of the tank (21") which gives me 30-32" for the cabinet and sump- I'm thinking about a 20gL- which is is 12" high- not thinking about a skimmer right now- but if...
Side note here- your avatar looks like peppers- are you familiar with chiliplants.com- they are from your area and grow an incredible variety of peppers- some are the hottest on earth lol
