Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
My secretary's hubby is in Telcom and he lost his job last January. Luckily he's still covered by cobra subsidy and unemployment. I think he has almost another year of benefits coming to him. Partly because he's going for state paid training. Use all the resources you can gang. It's ugly out there.
I haven't been happy with the results of TMP for the last few months. We're switching to Seachem. Their reliability has been faltering and for 100$ you better be guaranteeing me parameters that are rock solid.
Very cool. I look forward to seeing you take this through to completion. Your 5m work has so much potential and I can really see the 2-D concept coming to life. Great job so far!
Oh it definitely seems clear to me that not all of those people could pass by the judges. The judges would be CRAZY after dealing with that and it would probably take WEEEEEEEKS to get through them all! Thanks for the insight. Very interesting. Makes sense based on what you see of people.
How exciting! I can't wait to see that episode now! Of course I'll have to wait until February since I'll be out of town when it airs.
So do tell... how does ANYONE get picked to sing in front of the judges out of the bazillions that actually show up to try out?! I've always been curious how...
Phil, I was chatting with Randy and he sent this info:
A couple of things about rotifers,
1) We have new protocols for raising rotifers on our website at www.Rotifer.com. These should make it very easy for anybody to culture them (I know you already have a handle on this, but the info...
Hang in there Hawk. It is only your second catch. I think rock in the display with them would be very hazardous to their frailty and make it hard to remove the ones that don't survive, but I'd leave that to your research.
You're doing a great job to have so many still after 3 days. I agree, if...
Wow. With 100 fry I wonder if you'll need to change more water or change it more often. That's a LOT of fry! Congrats on the catch. I can't wait to see the progress of this batch! And keeping count of them is going to be tough! Stand STILL! LOL!
We have a 12g nano and several other tanks varying in size from 10g to 30 to 55. Let us know if you need anything. Also you should contact Chazotte, I know he has plenty of tanks and may have one to spare for your efforts!
OH NO! I'm so sorry to hear this, Wendy. Your tank was such a wonder. Nobody will ever do those corals justice! Hopefully you'll be back! How about a nano?! :)
Glass is one alternative. Reinforced egg crate is another. You could strap PVC to one side of it and would increase the strength. It would be interessting to test it. I know it makes a frag rack much stronger. But I wasn't fragging cats!
I'd make a DIY canister for the effluent of the nitrate reactor. I would personally want to be running them separate so that they could be controlled separately.
If you're going for the speakers I wouldn't bother. The speaking area was terrible. They were in the middle of the frag hall and you couldn't hear a word they said. There were a good amount of vendors there last year though. So if you're going for the frags and vendors it would be worth it for you.
