Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Both methods seem very complicated. A lot of nice nano tanks are run with much simple principals. Just saying :)
Judeo - thanks for the link. Always wanted to read about it.
You can also reduce the return flow. 250 gph is enough. That should help with the noise.
Still herbie would be my choice. Use a pipe outside the overflow box for return. And the two holes in the box for herbie.

@redfishbluefish. The weight of nitrate is actually 61.4% (not 13.9%). According to Randy. This makes sense because nitrate is NO3. Your calculation does not count the O's.
I am going to take a wild guess here. Potassium Nitrate, N vs K is about 3 to 1. So raise 30 ppm of N you also raise 10 ppm of K. Macro consumes K, quite significantly. That's why you have K in fertilizers. Even assuming macro consumes no K, 10 ppm is very little compare to 450ppm of K for NSW...
Paul I feed a lot but I have to run GFO to remove the excess phosphate. Nitrate is zero always so there is an imbalance there. I am gonna go with pure sodium nitrate just want to know if someone has used a specific product. I will probably order the one you link if no one is dosing this.
The reason for a pump to lose power is a bad impeller. There is no other moving parts and the block usually don't fail. If you like the skimmer and can source an impeller cheap I would give that a try.
Since no one is interested in the angelfish I will put one of my convict tang for sale, so I can move the RB into the DT. Convicts are very peaceful (I have two in a 100g tank) and great algae eaters. $50.
Check if the air intake is restricted. And the water intake is not restricted. Flat head means there is not enough bubbles to hold a head. Sometimes not enough bubble is not visibily obvious.
