does anyone own or has any knowledge of the following Octopus skimmers? I'm trying to determine which one would be best for my 210g tank.
dnw-200-recircualting or the new extreme ext-PS-200(its also considered recirculaitng ) but requires no gate valves or mods per the distributor(vue tech or...
I'm trying to convince my brother to buy a 12g aqua pod since they dont want regular tank. How often does one need to make water changes in these pods if you dont use a skimmer?

i was only inquiring with PA about the external models so you may want to contact PA about the insump only models. Jason usually replies within a day. Ive never heard complaints from the people that i know who own the in sump models.
PA said the feed pump should be at least 1 to 1.5 times the skimmer pump. The model i inquired about is rated at 200gph so he recommend at mag-350. BTW the Octopus skimmer DO NOT use a sicce pump. They did updgrade the previous Octo pump though. The skimmer with the sicce are the ones made by...

I would like to use it externally . Jason from premium acuatics mentioned it would probably be bettor exteranlly since the water level fluctuation could affect the skimmers performance. I leaning towards the new extreme series but also considering the recirculating modells. are you...

are you sure about the ratings for the Euro reef RS 135.. i checked two companies and its rated for a 135 tank with medium bioload...not sure where you got the 300g ratings from ? so would this skimmer be two small for a 215?

I'm definitely going to wait until the exreme series is out because i just read the specs on the nw-200 and its only rated for up to 175g. hopefully the extreme 200 is rated higher as the 250 price is $475...ouch!!
anyone here have any experience/knowledge of Octopus skimmers? I was looking at the NW 200 and saw theyre coming out with an extreme series soon. I've heard they're compatible with ASM except these can be used in sump or external.

did you notify the LFS that you got him from that he was sick when you got it? they should have allowed you to take him back if they sold you a sick fish? where did you get him?
I agree with Sam on the lower salinity for fowlr tanks. When i got back into thr hooby three years ago , i've decided to keep my salinity at 1.019 ot 1.020. I've never had any parasaite issues yet. MY qt i maintain at 1.018.
