Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Yeah, he's $40 local, I believe. I just don't know enough about him to buy him. I don't want to have problems with my other fish, for example. I also don't know how finicky they are, or whether they'd fall under a 'beginner' fish (like a yellow tang) or what.
Thanks for the reply!
PS: Rotts...
Anyone heard of these? My LFS has one, and he's a cute lil' guy, but the only info I could find on him is this:
http://www.marinecenter.com/fish/tangs/thompsonstang/
And I don't think that's enough info to go out and buy a fish by.
Thanks for the 411, guys!
I'm still up in the air on everything. One side of me wants to do it right, and the other side of me is my cheap-ass. ;)
I guess, for the moment, i should just be happy that my tank cycled quickly and that my lil' fishies are doing great.
Unless you want to upgrade...
I have a few moderated stupid questions for you guys, if you have a second to answer. :D
Ok, I have a newly established tank. My ammonia dropped to 0, my nitrites is about the same, and the nitrates seems to be relatively low as well, but above 0.
Anyway, I'd like to get into some non-fish...
I scrapped the typhoon and went back to the emporers. That thing sucked.
Maybe in the future I'll buy a 20 gallon tank or something and make a sump out of it. Not sure yet...will probably see how far i can go with my current filtration. Seems to be working great so far, although my bio load is...
So, I bought this skimmer:

Finding a good HOT skimmer seems to be a little tough. This is my second one, and I can't get this one to work right either.
It's...
Yeah. I have a Seaclear acrylic tank, which has a 'hood' which houses a 36 inch flourescant. Just one of them, and that's all that's in the hood. It's 36x10ish. I guess I'd probably be better off building something that extends the entire length of the tank.
would it be way too little light for a 55 gallon setup that I'd eventually like to stop with corals? Any suggestions on a route that'd be better?

The only person I'd really ever want to see in concert is that blake dude. He's a good singer, great stage personality, and the beat boxing thing is pretty sweet. When he did his one censorship on the words in that 311 song, that was great.
PS - My wife makes me watch it. ;)
How hard is the acrylic to work with?
I understand the glueing process works great and actually 'welds' the acrylic together, and is super strong. Is it hard to get a good seal, or do you just pretty much lay a bead, smooth it out and clamp it together?
Also, how about cutting? Take any finesse?
