I stand corrected and I agree. I didn't look closely enough to realize this was a single MH fixture. With a T5 fixture this wouldn't be an issue, but you DEFINITELY don't want the heat of a single MH directly over your brace. I've seen them melt a bit.

It is just fragging. As long as the flesh is still firm and not mushy and the "babies" are all doing well then it will survive. Corals will sometimes do this when water quality is suffering to ensure that it survives, but if your water Q checks out and your lighting or coral position hasn't...

We have some barrels, but most are bung hole and you can't really mix water in them (and getting water out takes a plan).

Which panworld pump do you have? Have you tried to divert the flow back to the sump to see if it would recirc through just the sump?
