Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Looking forward to the progress pics, so keep them coming! Is the rock from your other system? Is there anything else that you are going to be moving in from your last system?
We've had good success with a large group of Chromis (6), but haven't tried yet with Banghaai. We have 4 Pajama now, but they're not as much fun (nocturnal).
Did you have that problem with the Banghaai?
I thought that expired at 10 posts, so I'm surprised you're still having the problem. I think you have to enter the letters in whatever case they appear in, but I'm not certain...
I'm all for being done beating a dead horse. Thread locked. If you have any pertinent information from a non-anonymous source that you would like to share PM me and I'll post it. Otherwise I think we've beat these clowns to death.
I love a nice group of tank bred (now there's a hot topic, eh?) Banghaai Cardinals! We had a troup of Chromis for a long time and then just like *snaps finger* that, they all disappeared, one at a time over the course of about a month.

Quite frankly none of us really know what's going on behind the scenes of any fish breeder.
Further talk like that without...
With vigilent water changes and/or low bioload/coral warfare, a skimmer is competely unnecessary. Keep tabs on your parameters (Nitrates/phosphates) and you'll know when it is no longer "good enough".
As soon as we have all the details finalized a post would be started, the meeting header will changed and we'll be sure to let you know!
Right now it is looking like the 24th at 1pm in Washington with the butler in the garden (sorry it got to sounding like a game of clue). ;D
The thing is ... that while the picassos may highlight this dilemma (hobbyist generated inbreeding), can I please see a show of hands of folks who bought their "pair" of [insert clown type here] from the same tank at an LFS? Guess what gang? Those were siblings. So who's breeding them? Well none...
RO/DI is reverse osmosis/deionized water they typically have cartridges for each in the various stages of the filter. A few of our LFS sell RO/DI water, so you could check with them. Some folks have used distilled until they got their RO/DI up and running. We purchased our water from Trop before...
