My 55 does the same, never totally silent. The best way to reduce noise is decrease return flow. It will slow down the overflow and reduce the noise. Do you need to even dose kalk? I would focus on alk and cal first, see what your coral load/consumption is. Right now you (if I'm correct do not have a lot of hard corals) may not need to do any kalk for some time. I also think if you raise your mag a tad it will also help to keep params more...
