Its basically just a bubble box the feed water dumps into. The box is sorta lined with the filter padding. As the filter padding gets clogged the water rises in the box until it spills over the overflow at the top. Then it's time to change the pad. I doubt I'd clean it but I would imagine you...

Anyone having problems with Bryopsis may want to consider this treatment. I was battling this plague for months one time and also overdosed MG one time but didn't correlate the disappearance of the bryopsis with the overdose. HTH

I hate cleaning socks to the point I got an idea for a add on box for the sump. You use the bulk filter pads or felt pads you just pull out and throw away.

the 65k is the best for growth (photosynthesis) but the worst visually (opinion). If your fuge is not a display then color doesnt really matter. I'm no expert but I'm not sure what the actinics are doing for you in your fuge. As far as I know, the actinics are basically for human viewing...

They are definitely at Home Depot Carlo. I've purchased two and was snooping around the lighting the other day and saw them. They are back by the motion detector lights. I would bet you could grow corals with them as well. I can no longer see through the side of my fuge due to the coralline. HTH

I use a Lights of America 500W equivalent 65K form Home Depot. Stuff grows like crazy.

They have the tell tale single off color radial stripe..........kinda of or maybe not after the second picture.

Don't forget that places like ATL and ReeferMaddness run 1000Watt/20K lights which will certainly produce different colors. I think its the same piece.

It certinally looks like it. Comparing it to a named photo would be the only way to quickly tell. The way to truly tell is to examine the skelton under a microscope by someone who knows what their looking at (not me btw) and I'm pretty certian the description from the microscope guy won't...
