Re: Sliconing the baffles
Draw you lines on the glass, put bead of chalk on the line, put the baffle in all on the same side of the beads of chalk maybe a 1/2 inch away from the bead. Slide the baffle evenly to the line making even contact with the chalk. At least that's how I would try it...

I like it (blue) on the dental and the rosettes. Not so much a fan of the paint on the fluted stuff. How about some stencil work on the flat area between the vertical flutes? Maybe when the doors are on it will help or make apparent your highlighting decisions. Beautiful craftsmanship for sure.

I've been considering the same thing for sometime myself. But I think the shaft is lubricated with some heavy grease. I have one at home. I'll see if I can pull the shaft and check it out.
