Just after that point we started getting cyano like crazy in our 65. As soon as we changed our PC bulbs (that only get 6-9mo life before the color shift starts) the cyano went away. Like clockwork.
Could you take a picture of the other end of that pipe? I'd like to see the details of that wooden shelf up there and what the other side looks like!
Thanks for the update.
What do we do with the Elk/Stag in our tanks if we are no longer able to sell or trade it? It grows like weeds and will need pruning from time to time?
Of course I agree that we shouldn't be taking any more into the hobby... Maybe we should be able to trade it?
That frag would get lost in the 450, Billy! Not to worry though, I'll surely find something here to contribute to rebuilding the reef! What color are the 'spawns in your tank now?

The vinegar is a GREAT idea. Heavy on the vinegar (no such thing as overdosing that stuff). Hopefully they'll all be good as new after a soak.
Good luck getting back up and running, Bob! You're welcome to frags when you're ready. Unfortunately I don't have any of your yellow milli left. We did...
My endcaps haven't melted ... yet! LOL! If you like that crisp white then the 250s with VHO supplementation is definitely going to be more your speed. The 250s definitely produce a more crisp white than the 400s, which are an overbearing yellow (6500, IME), requiring the 12Ks for my taste.
LOL. Progress looks good and the presentation very entertaining. I see you enjoying playing in the graphic arts. If you've got some skills there we might be able to put them to some good use!
I'm not sure what kind of pump would be required. I doubt an aqualifter would be suffient anymore and I'd be concerned about hooking in to anything really strong (as you don't want the POTENTIAL for an overdose).
Why would you put just the kalkl reactor in the basement? If your tank/sump is upstairs, there's no reason not to have your Kalk reactor there too (unless you're really strapped for space under the tank, in which case I'd say send the sump down there and be done with it. You know you want to! :)
Bwahahahahaha! You're a funny one, Bill. I'm thinking that between Rock Band & Wii we're going to be there for the long haul.
I really like the bluer color of the Reeflux 12K and while you do sacrifice a bit of PAR from the XM 10Ks, I personally like the look better. Particularly with 400w...
Tom, get great at taking pictures with the lens you have and you'll have skills that will transfer when you DO get a macro lens. In the mean time some closeup filters (<20$) or a extension tube (kenkos are cheap, you can also shop ebay), and you'll get the closer pictures your looking for...
