Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I just run fans now as my system is plumbed into the basement and fans and evap take care of the temps. I sold my chiller to Francis at the beginning of July. We hadn't used it in a year or more. I think it is actually more efficient to have the bigger one as it runs less and I believe they use...
Your alk will come down naturally, and adding Ca should help that along. DON'T do anything dramatic. This will only become a crisis if you make it into one. Just keep a tight eye on everything else (mag, ph, etc) while the alk falls. If you've been dosing without testing then what you're seeing...
1/6hp worked fine for us with a 120 and a 20g sump. From everything I've read there isn't a DIY solution (beyond fans over tank & sump which work remarkably well for us).
Wrong type of frag for my liking! I'm a mid-size breed person, personally. Have him erase my name and put yours on there! 2... 3... you wouldn't even notice the extra mouth to feed!
You could run it in a bin forever if you wanted. I'd favor something with a wide mouth rather than something as narrow as a garbage can for your needs though. You want the most possible surface area for gas exchange and light penetration. You could either do rubbermaid totes. If you thought...
Definitely not spaghetti worms. They don't have a tube to them and are usually reddish/brown in color. Harmless tube worms though and are beneficial filter feeders to your tank. Do you see little fan like circles coming out of the end of the tubes at all?
MH is not really necessary for a tank of that depth. If you can get 2-3wpg over the tank (even PCs), you'll be able to grow softies in the tank. Certainly with MH you'd be able to grow anything, but the problems increase dramatically as well with a tank of that size.
The ballasts in your hood...
Love that picture too. It looks like the shark is flying through the clouds! Amazing perspective. I wonder how the animals feel about it?!
From the photos that you posted, I'd guess that the Baltimore Aquarium will pale by comparison! And if you're going to go there make sure that you buy your...
The "leather" (isn't actually a leather if my guess is right) is a Psammacora. That's what the mother colony looks like to me after some research.
The tank looks good, tufts of hair and all!
I'll bring the glasses & flashlight to the meeting at Rich's along with the camera gear. My filter is a 62mm, so it may not fit your macro lens, depending on what filter size it takes.
At this point it looks like John will be diving, Sierra, Zachary & I will be on the shore.
We don't have a forum dedicated to Scuba, not enough convo to warrant it. We've always used either Triton Divers on LBI or Underwater Discovery on 37 in Toms River (depending on where in "South Jersey"...
That's funny, Mike... those shots make me want to go take lessons. LOL.
But I'd certainly be happy to come take pics of your stuff.
