Joe, you are correct....I reported "Nitrogen", not nitrate. But it still boils down to every molecule of potassium nitrate that is added, you get ONE K and ONE NO3, not ONE to THREE. Bottom line, with potassium relative high in natural seawater, and with the demand from algae, I don't think...
Wild guess it is Joe! :D
To find the percentages of K and N in KNO3, first add the molar masses:
K + N + (Ox3)
39 + 14 +(16 x 3) = 101
To determine percentages, divide this number into either N or P and multiply by 100 to get percentages:
Percent of Nitrogen = 14/101 x 100 = 13.9%...
Turn your dosers down a touch!
You were away for a while and your calc and mag went up. You mentioned that you does alk and calc, but the graph shows calc and mag??? Query, do you have an ATO? And is it filled with RO/DI water? Also, how long have you been dosing...
My low water ATO reservoir LED light crapped out. I'm not surprised, considering I was running this bipin LED at 2.9 volts....the upper limit of the LED.....with a wall-wart that probably is not very accurate with voltage.
I'm guessing it burnt out on the first low water situation...
Joe, I don't dose it....short of all the food I feed the fish. :) But I've read people using stump removal products....but with the warning that some might contain copper (and other unwanted products), so pick carefully. You might wish to search other sites that have a number of folks...
Back to your original Bubble Magus HOB, I would make sure the air inlet portion of the venturi is nice and clean. They typically get clogged up with precipitated gunk, causing poor bubble formation. Vinegar alone typically won't do it. I have to chip it out using something small to get in...
I put ball valves on both my drains with the same intention of closing them to do maintenance. I quickly realized that once the return pump is turned off, within two minutes no water comes down the drain lines. The other issue, I can't close them now if I wanted to....they are "locked" open...
