Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I did not shop there but this guy in WI apparently did and is not happy.
I'm thankful that here in NJ we have some fantastic sponsors to shop from and also the club (members) to trade with.
I would disagree with placing an anemone in a 12 gallon tank. You already have 5 fish in a 12 gallon tank. Stick with what you have - don't add anymore.
the banggai is undoubtedly wild caught - and a big no-no for all of us is to not buy fish that are endangered in the wild. What's done is done...
pollute away - everyone else does it. ;)
just joking.
I believe (and it's been several years since I mounted my VHO retro kit) - you need a "standoff" .
Basically you screw the endcaps into the standoff - and the standoff into your canopy.
Re: AGA 120 (very few pictures and lots of dull writing)
The alk test -
Basically it's about as "dummy proof" as possible for people with brain-freezes (like me) when it comes to doing multiplication to figure out where my results are on the dkh scale. The design is straightforward. Add water...
Re: AGA 120 (very few pictures and lots of dull writing)
So far so good with the clam. My first concern with my lr containing predatory snails/pyrams is gone as they have not shown any inkling towards the maxima. Net conclusion (tentative) is that they are harmless rissoids - so the initial...
That looks like a derasa and the fact that it "fell" is nothing to be worried about. As they age the clams no longer use the threads to hold themselves in place and use their sheer weight as a deterence against predators. Your clam probably felt unsafe perched up there and probably rocked itself...
pics...these are the derasas? At 9 inches (assuming a deresa) they no longer use their threads to stay on - but their sheer weight.
Look up amphipods - you sure that wasn't the "black bugs"?
Sorry - I know you're not big on names and such so forgive me if I'm asking basic questions.
sometimes LR will bring with it some hitchers...this is typical of say LR from the gulf of mexico - where they use the fact that it's shipped in water as a differentiator from LR shipped wet/newspaper from the pacific. I've even seen some lucky folks get hitchers from LR purchased from an...
good luck with the two tangs in a 55. It's not ideal but hopefully they are of the smaller size. Be warned -the two are magnificent to look at but can overwhelm a 55. Maybe your tank is aquascaped adequately but most people just have pile of rocks and barely any room for the fish to swim.
Also...
diatoms SHOULD disappear. I didn't like waiting since it was getting all nasty so I siphoned what I could and added two snails. The hair algae is problematic. If you can remove the rock - it'll be easier to scrub the algae off or leave it in the dark (with a small powerhead).
that stand is amazing....really nice workmanship.
that is some hair algae on that top rock and the brown stuff is all diatoms. The rock with hair algae - you might want to pull that out and place in a bucket with no lights.
Also while your tank is cycling you should not light up the T5s (my...
