Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
This probably only interests me but...
Spectrum (aka Rayovac) really only recently came to become the owner of tetra. It was part of Warner Lambert's consumer division loooooooong ago before they were wholly acquired by Pfizer. Pfizer then spun off Tetra thru a LBO in 2003...then resold to...
saltwater4life - good to see you around again!
ageek - is this for the 12gallon nano? The clowns will eventually get pretty territorial so I'm not sure i'd add any thing else. Maybe something for the lower "zone" like a goby of some kind would probably be just fine.
ham - good to know. Thanks for sharing.
rgarofalo - i never call pfo - i emailed them maybe 3 times about different topics (new leg stands, transferring warranty, getting a manual). PFO - specifically Carla - responded immediately for me.
i was under the impression check valves are notorious for failing...
The hole in the return line is interesting but i'd be concerned about a blockage (salt creep).
Overall I don't know if any "single" solution is as fool-proof as having enough room in the sump to handle any siphon that might...
with group buys typically the vendor delivers to ONE place - in this case I believe it is flemington, nj.
Some folks who are able to - will go there to get their orders.
For this specific group buy, the manager has volunteered his time to help drive the orders to four destinations in NJ. You...
At that size tank - I would consider increasing the frequency of water changes. Even if you did add phosban - is there a place you can DIY a HOB set up? or are you going to get a TLF reactor? I just think a reactor on a 14G seems like overkill.
ron - set the thing on auto and as ron popeil says "set it and forget it".
That's how i run my G series...no issues so far.
First test was the maxima clam - in my opinion (and Barry's from ClamDirect) the most unforgiving clam to keep. No problems for me (thanks AqOB!) and I keep it a good...
yeah my big problem with these guys is:
if you thought the PA website is terrible - you should go see this one! It hasn't changed since I first checked them out years ago.
It boggles the mind how they are considered "non-profit".
$72 shipping is crazy.
a reef? or you mean a sea grass biotope? Maybe have SH or pipefish DT?
That would be tough though (especially if you plan on more 2 month hiking trips!!)
Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.
the cobwebs are growing on this thread! lol.
Hey I saw a pair of twin spot gobies at OGII. I was under the impression though that they were hard to keep (or that they should not be kept singley). I have to go double check what bob fenner said.
Cool I was just wondering. What an interesting leap from hyenas to reef keeping. By the way - I also like that planted tank - really unusual and interesting.
