New Stand for 29gallonBioCube tied into 120gallon

Yup they can handle a bit of flow as long as it is a dispersed flow such as spray bars, flare nozzles and other broad patterns. Mike I would keep an eye on the Koralias. Those slots are small enough for a young seahorse to stick a tail into not to mention the open ends. As long as you keep...

The one in the pics is a female. Try to get me a pic of the other one when you can and I can probably tell you for sure if it's male. Side profile would be best. Here's how to tell the difference: http://www.seahorse.org/library/articles/sex.shtml

    ID macro

It appears to be a mermaids fan,Udotea sp. It is a calercerous algae similar to halimedia. Here is a little bit of info on it from Etropicals. http://www.etropicals.com/product/prod_Display.cfm?siteid=46&pCatId=2085

Is it growing from a central stalk? Can you get a little bit brighter pic, possibly with the flash on?

    Who's our resident seahorse expert?

For filtration a canister will work as long as you keep it clean. I would look for something in the 350-400 gph range. As mentioned before a spray bar return is your best bet as it really spreads the flow out across the tank. As for hitches, I use mainly live rock and some macro algaes. I have...

    Who's our resident seahorse expert?

Yes it will and it will allow you to add more horses if you'd like. You could easily do 6 horses in a 55.

    Rubbermaid Troughs?

Check with your local Agway or Tractor Supply store. They both carry them.

January Meeting, Saturday 19, 2008 Hunterdon County

Be careful raising your temperature too fast. Sudden changes are more harmful then a steady low temperature. I would keep a close eye on things for the next few days. You are already looking at least at a 20 degree temp swing in 24 hours, that is a lot.

    Started my 180 build.

Manual removal will help a lot with getting rid of them. A secret to removing them is to make the tank totally dark either by covering the glass with dark paper or doing this with the lights out and room totally dark. If covering with paper, cut out a small section, say 4x4 inches from the...

January Meeting, Saturday 19, 2008 Hunterdon County

Harry, do you have a heater you can put in the tank to help keep the temperature up? Sorry you are having problems and are missing the meeting.

Ok was just checking on the temp. I hadn't realized it was plumbed into your reef when you fisrt mentioned you had them. I would keep offering the mysis, they will run out of pods in a short while. May take a couple weeks but they will get them. As for arctic pods, I have never seen any...
