    So What Did Santa Bring?

I do not shop; period; end of story. However, my wife informed me that I got her a nice necklace....most likely from Ford's Jewlery. She's on a first-time bases with them considering that I've bought quite a gifts for her. FYI, I don't even know where Ford's Jewlers is located. My wife...

LED Lighting - Are we greatly over estimating their abilities?

Mine are old Apollo's that did not have adjustment capability.....I think 55 3 watt LEDs running at a total of 120 watts total. But again, 20 kelvin...so very blue...with aproximalely half the LEDs being blue. Actually I just counted....30 blues and 25 predominantly white ( I have a few...

LED Lighting - Are we greatly over estimating their abilities?

You really can't use watts with LEDs. It might get you in the ballpark, but it really boils down to wavelengths and what is usable light for the corals......that is, PAR. Just like we use test kits and instruments to measure our water, we need to use PAR meters to measure the lights. I'm...

New 90 Gallon Reef setup. - Going to need alot of advice.

Fred, I thought I saw banding on the tenticles, which is typical to the small brittle stars that end up in our tank. Here is a typical small brittle star. Note the banded tenticles.

    LED affect on Zoa/palys

You do not want "horticulture" fixtures...they tend to be 4000 to 6500 kelvin, which is great for plants, but will make your corals look brown. Also note that Apollo unfortunately is no longer in business. And FYI, I have two Apollos over my tank.

So Im going to be at bridgewater raritan high school tomm

The closest are what Zippy stated OG2 and Fengs.....right down 22 (and Feng's a mile off 22.) However, if you feel like a little bit of Italy, right around the corner from Bridgewater Raritan HS is Maggiano's....an Italian restaurant. Good food. I only pity you in that it is very close to...

    brs 2 part

Zippy had some good advice about slowly raising your numbers. Note calc isn't as damaging as alc as far as quick rises in concentration. Here's what I'd do.....385 isn't that low.....I'm assuming you are daily dosing alc and calc. I'd slight increase that dose of calc to slowly bring...

    brs 2 part

Yes, you want to make solution 1....and with BRS, I believe they use an anhydrous calcium chloride, so I believe it's two cups calcium chloride to one gallon of RO/DI water. Note, it is an exothermic dissolution, so it will get slightly warm while it dissolves.

New 90 Gallon Reef setup. - Going to need alot of advice.

I believe I see banding on those tentacles and that would make that a mini brittle starfish.....a good hitchhiker.

    Girl in the Supermarket

Paul, I find this story very shocking. So what you are tell us is that Supermarkets don't have Supermodels. I guess I won't be hanging out at supermarkets any more. :o Are you sure this Jewish princess said "sticks" and not stones. It's common practive to place stones on a Jewish...

Wow! That's a new one for me. I've got to believe it's in that little strip mall right next to East Brunswick Plumbing Supply....I'm there frequently.

    Jimroth's Big Ol' Tank

Well, after seeing the prices Picasso's juvenile crap...I mean art...can cost, I'm figuring the artistic value of these table lamps would bring in 50 to 100 thousands each..................as a skimmer, about $150. If you purchase both table lamps, I'll cut you a break. :o

    Jimroth's Big Ol' Tank

Jim, I have the same problem with two MRC skimmers. I was thinking wiring them with a light kit and shade and making them into end table lamps. :p
