    Brought the tank, stand and sump home today and put it in place. Light rails will be picked up tomorrow and also hopefully painted after work.

    How to Raise Salinity

    You want to slowly raise the salinity. You can do this by topping your tank off with salt water instead of fresh. You should be able to do this over 3-4 days.

    I use 2 small powerheads I had laying around. I only make up 4-8 gallons a time at this point so it works well. When my new tank is set up and I'm making more water I'll probably use a mag 3 I have laying around to mix in my small brute.

    Awesome fish room! As for the hard water stains you can use distilled vinegar to clean them. If they are really bad and don't come off very easy soak a towel in vinegar and lay it over the area for an hour or two and then wipe it off. Hope this helps.

    Exactly. It also helps the outside layer lay flat. A torch works just fine it's what I usually use, you just have to be a bit mor careful.

    I've never worked with casting resin before, but have worked with 2 part epoxy a lot. The main thing I have used it for is sealing wood fishing lures and sealing the thread making custom rods. When using it for these 2 things a bubble free clear finished is a must. To get rid of bubbles and...

    I would coat it first either with the clear polish or rattle can varnish. The epoxy will heat up significantly when curing which will more than likely change the color as well
