Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
The magnets in earbuds affect the compass also, but that doesn't stop people from using them. :D
Seriously though, that's a good point. You can/should calibrate the compass before and after applying the magnetic adhesive to your phone to remedy that.
I don't have an IPhone, but my bro-in-law does and he's a camera geek. Well, last week I saw a deal on living social for this 3-in-1 lens set for $15. So I ordered him one for Christmas. Turns out I had to pay an extra $6 for shipping, but this looks like a much better quality option than the...
Nice job! Are you going to put a piece of plywood down on the bottom to have a flat base for a sump? (or whatever else you may be storing under there)
Also, will your tank be reef ready? If so, you will need to cut an opening in the "top" for the drain/return pipes.
Not trying to nit pick...
Paul, I've been considering doing the same thing to my refractometer, but wasn't sure what kind of lubricant to use. I'll give this a shot and see what happens.
On a side note, since my plastic flap wasn't going down all the way, I've been pressing lightly on the sides to make sure it seats...
I decided which frags I'm bringing for the lotto:
1. Green Digi (about 1" long by 3/4" wide, nothing "special", but a nice frag.)
2. Orange Ricordea (It looks like 1 head but has 3 eyes and very likely to split up soon! This is a bright fluorescent orange color with light green eyes.)
3...
I would offer, but I need to pick up our guest speaker at the airport saturday afternoon and I don't know if I would have time. If you run out of options, let me know Rob and I'll try to take care of it for you.
Wow, great size tank Chris! It looks like that's a perfect location for it too.
I see what looks like a toothed overflow wall, I'm guessing that's going to be installed on the wall side of the tank?
Can't wait to see some more pics and watch this build progress.
Lies! :p Just make sure you occasionally take some family photos with it to help make your case (and save your hide).
I agree with most of what was already said here, so not much new to offer. I would strongly agree with Judeo in that a decent tripod will do wonders. Even with the fancy...
If we all keep putting in our 2 cents, we might end up with a couple bucks in the end.
While it's regretable that we had to close the signups early, it was due to the party plans that were available. Going in, we had 2 plans to choose from that were both $30 per person.
- Plan A - The...
If you're looking to go snorkeling or SCUBA diving, I'd highly recommend a GoPro Hero3 HD. It's small, light, has tons of mounting options, and records in high quality HD pics or vids. The only negative of this gem is that it doesn't have a zoom. It films in wide view only, which is great for...
Yea, that's not going anywhere with all that foliage (unless it gets bare during the winter months?) Not to question your engineering Paul, but maybe I'm just not getting the whole picture... How does that wooden frame/base keep the plastic enclosure secured to the ground? Is the "foundation"...
