Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Yea, the AquaStik stuff is safe to use and should not cause a cycle. I would suggest you do try to epoxy at least the bigger stuff to something bigger below it if possible. I would say to also try to stabilize any of the smaller pieces that you can move easily (say with the push of a finger)...
AquaDan - First off, welcome to the club! That's a really nice looking tank you have there.
As for the RO/DI issue, I think saltkreep is onto something. I know when I start making RO/DI water, the first few minutes has very high TDS on the "IN" reading (well, high for me means in the 35-40...
I see it took you several attempts but she finally caved in! I think you should have started bigger (like 500g) then worked your way down to like a 120g. :D
Still, at least you're back in the hobby Olivier! Good luck with the new build. I may have an RBTA for you. My large one split a...
Yea, Jon has been in contact with me for the past few days with the request to post this invite to our members. I think they have a good thing going on over there and we're very happy to oblige him with this request. We always like to promote local swaps and this in one that (although slightly...
I hadn't thought that far ahead John, but that's not a bad idea. I currently only have 1 MP-40 so I'll try that one on the cabinet side instead of the other end it's at now. I'll most likely add another MP-40 or maybe one of the Jaebo pumps. But I'd prefer a VorTech since I already have full...
Yea, I offered it to you in your old ToTT thread (last paragraph of this post):

Thanks for the tip on the drain / return hole. I was thinking about that myself a few times. I may...
OK, time for another small update. Having a few days off of work helped a bit. Too bad the weather was just a bit too cold or I would have gotten a lot more done today. Anyway, here's some progress:
As stated below, I had previously applied Kilz2 latex primer to the entire surface of all my...
It's probably cold(er) in the basement, which is not optimal for a RODI. Any way you can insulate the water piping that it's connected to? It might help (if not today, but for future use at least.)
Well said Pete. Today is a day to be thankful for all that you have and for everything that people do for you. I had the pleasure of thanking my cousin for waking me up with a text at 7:30 am on a sleep in day... but it's all good.
Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving everyone.
I just painted the new stand/cabinet/canopy I'm building for my upgrade. I used Kilz2 and plan to use a product called RedGard for the very bottom of the stand to seal it up real good in case of a leak.
Kilz2 alone is very good protection against water spray and light moisture. I've used it...
It looks like Rowaphos, and if it's kept wet that's another similar trait. I agree that the price is very good if it's the same materials Ed.
I would say try it and if it gives you similar results then let us know so we can all start saving money. ;)
It has been requested that we require a location for all "Deals and Steals" threads. This will help people identify whether an item is too far without having to actually open the thread and/or ask for a location. So, we are adding this requirement as follows:
Location (zip code or town) must...
