Regardless of which way you install the bulkhead, the gasket ALWAYS goes on the flange side. So if the nut is on the outside of the tank, the gasket in on the inside, and if the nut is on the inside of the tank, the gasket is on the outside. You NEVER put the gasket on the nut side.
Being of Irish descent, I’m glad to see that size isn’t all it’s cranked up to be. (If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, google “Irish Curse”.)
Small is good! :grin::grin::grin::grin::o
And with Kevin’s method with the hook and shrimp, you will still want a pot of boiling water ready…..with a little Old Bay seasoning in there. Nothing better than eating that little devil once you catch him! :o
.
That is why I've been trying to contact Gus. Our last communication was for him to hold onto it until the tank was taken down. However, I haven't heard from him since. In the mean time I've already purchased the replacement display screen.
And to answer your question, it is a dimmed...
Kyle, I apologize, but I’m retracting my offer. I’ve given it a little thought, and I’m going to stick with the Tunze I have.
Skimmer is still for sale!
That might work. Right now the meeting is all southerners...but I'll wait and see if any northern folks are going to venture into the deep south and see if we can make that connection.
That valve restricts the flow of water back into your sump. When fully open, the bubble column should be minimal….all the water is passing through the skimmer too fast. As you close the valve, it holds more water in the skimmer body, raising the bubble column.
I’m not getting involved in...
Kyle, I would like the skimmer! However, with you down south, I won’t be down that way until Nov 7 and Nov 11…….pick-up at Philly Airport. Would you mind waiting till then? Or do you come north at any time soon?
Jim said it.....start opening the gate valve to lower the bubble height in the skimmer body. I actually start from the other end.....I open the gate valve all the way and slowly start to close it.
EDIT TO ADD: Is there an echo in here! I guess we were all typing at the same time. I'm...
Has anyone heard from Gus? I’ve tried contacting him (PM’s) a few times over the past couple months with no reply. I.m guessing he’s not visiting the site much???
+1 for the Reefbreeders…..and that one plug doesn’t need to go into one of the outlets on your controller….put it in a regular power strip and save a spot on you controller. All the controls for the light are on the light.
However, I do have to ask, what’s wrong with the two 165W LED...
I did a new screen on my kids Apple…..same thing….cracked screen because she sat on her computer.
It was very easy to do. First do a search on DIY screen replacement for your computer. The video for the Apple was concise and clear. You carefully pry off the frame on the screen, pull the...
What goes around comes around….an undergravel filter (remember those from the 60’s) that ejects the waste out of the tank. Pretty ingenious….the kind of thing where you say, “Why didn’t I think of that.”
Mark, we have a group buy for salt...the last one in March. HERE is the instruction thread that includes prices....were you can compare to what you're looking at now. You'll also find that the Hidden Reef in PA sells salt pretty close to at cost.
