I have a clam and have seen growth on it in my 120. I don't have any issue with heat on mine without fan. I also have T5 on my fresh water and don't turn the fans on because they are annoying.

I like mine as well(Catalina). I think you can ask him to put in fans, mine does not have them...heat is really minimal though and I don't have it enclosed. You could go 6 or 8 bulbs I think for that size tank.

I did a combination like some are suggesting. Out of 180 lbs of rock I got 120 from a NJRC member, 25lbs base from Trop(heavy but cheaper had a nice flat shape to it), 30lb from my old tank various LFS, 15 lbs from another NCRC member who was downsizing with some corals. Upside was win win...

Yep get a test kit...try running a medium that obsorbs silica.

I would agree so long as you have surface movement you should be fine. Lightly feed your fish, make sure you don't overfeed for the day.

Thanks again. If you need more I always have a it to go. Might suggest putting a small power head in your fuge cheato likes some water movement. I think that is why mine does well have a lot of surface movement. I know I can find your house the next time too ;).

I have two 4s and two MJ900s, the MJs are on a controller. The standard Koralia are not controllable. I had a K2 on my nano...they have been very reliable and inexpensive to run for me.
