My overflow is making strange noises

Welcome to the club :(. I straightened my pipes to the sump that helped some. I put filter socks (thanks AO for bringing them to the swap) on my pipes that helped some. Still loud and once in a while I gurgle ...but don't flush. I am debating on making my own durso's :-\ because the pipes are...

    Caribsea Mineral Mud

I have a few brittle stars, a snail or two, and I had a hitchhiker crab that I had found when moving my tank. Plus pods from MikeM. I should probably get some worms or something at some point I guess.

    Best pricing on tanks?

It depends on what size you want but if Will at AO has a good deal he will pass it on to you. His price at the time for a 120 was better then Trops 90. I would definately give him a ring.

    Caribsea Mineral Mud

I have a mud based refugium. I got the figi mud from the builder of my sump. I covered it with some sand and then rubble on top. The benefit as I understand it is in the trace minerals ect. Some say you don't need it unless you have mangroves for what it is worth. I have great growth with my...

    180g In-Wall Reef

Well if there is a fish that is going to get stressed it is the hippo....on the other side it is probably different enough from all the other tangs not to be a problem. Your purple is really the key if it is a rude fish then maybe it is a bad idea. I have a hippo and a naso in the QT together...

    Time to change my setup

Pics would be nice. What fish do you want? Corals? The vast amount of LR that you have will help keep the work down so don't be so quick to get rid of it IMHO.

    Secrets of the Hippo Tang?

Mine in is in QT at the moment but I totally agree, they are the true chickens of the sea. Mine eats mysis great, algae not so much, the naso in jail with him eats just the reverse. I am suplementing everthing and doing daily water changes. Still he is the one with problems. I have read some...

    My Oceanic Tech 120

Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input. That is a Pnoy "frag" or minicolony as he called it. My wife really wanted to get the clam and you guys take it all wrong. :P Thanks Phil, I realized that almost every coral I have is aquacultured, most in NJ. Just want to say thanks again to...
