Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
If you use those driveway markers, be careful when cutting them because they are fiberglass and the ends will fray... which may lead to splinters. I prefer using actual acrylic rods (preferably square or triangle shape because the epoxy bonds better than round), but Don's idea for using plastic...
I'll be donating a few frags to the raffle as well:
I'll have a branching hammer frag... probably 3-4 heads or so. I plan to cut it the day of the meeting so I won't know exact size until then.
I'll also have a lime-green acro frag around 4" long with several branches coming out of it...
I have a female perc and I bought a juvenile GSM as a hopeful mate. I asked if mixed species can mate on here before and got many replies that they can... so I'm going to say yes it's possible.
Mine both share my nem and although they haven't laid/spawned/"whatever the term is" eggs yet... I...
LOL Paul! Yea, I'm sure we collected enough of those to make a whole separate picture frame.
Don, it's really inspiring that your kids are so into the cleanups. I've seen your kids more excited about doing it than some of the adults that were there!
Kudos to your sis too for doing this...
Just found this website on Galaxia fragging. Looking at the pics, if it was that it would have long tube-like skeletons when looking at it from the side (see the 2nd and 3rd posts.)

If you're going to the meeting, I can hook you up with some Pink Anthelia (similar to xenia) and / or some finger leather. Both of mine can use a good trimming and I'd be happy to bring some for you. Let me know.
I'll post some pics or a short video tomorrow when the lights are on.
LOL, yea it can be a lot of work and stree, but it's all worth it IMO.
Dave, I have a few hinged glass tops that you can borrow one if you need it. You could probably cover 90% of the tank and still use your hang on power filter. Better than nothing. Just let me know if you get the fish and...
I agree with Steve. Copper should be last resort. Hypo just involves using a refractometer and adding salt or RO water until you get it where you want it. Just make sure when you lower or increase salinity that you do it slowly and not big jumps.
I've tried 3 six-line wrasses and sadly none of them made it thru QT.
The first one jumped and went carpet surfing within a few days... so a screen or glass top is a must with them.
I learned from that and put a glass top on for the second one; who didn't eat much and never made it the full...
I was a lil bored this morning, so I decided to do a lil math to compare this stuff to other more popular choices. If you don't want to hurt your head, you don't have to follow along... just skip down to the results at the bottom of each product. ;) I tried to use colors to associate factors for...
Wow! That's an awesome deal. I saw these at the frag swap and have been wanting them ever since.
If I didn't have a pending preorder for 2 of the Apollo dimmables... I'd buy this in a heartbeat. These are NOT the cheap Amazon Chinese fixtures.
Good luck with the sale graz.
Phil, I'm not sure of the difference between the brands of pellets, but each one should provide a "recommended" amount to run per xxx gallons. During the initial break-in period (about 3-4 weeks) you should only be adding about 1/4 to 1/2 of the recommended amount. That way to don't shock your...
I like Phils analogy to the baseball terms. I also agree that QT is better than UV. Besides that, it's debated that UV can also remove beneficial bacteria as well.
