Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Only one way to find out Mark. Break off a small tip of an SPS and try to feed it to the Linkia. See if it has any interest. ;)
There's a chance it might eat xenia? Hmm, maybe I want one now. Mine can get out of control some times, lol. Even if it just killed some... that wouldn't be too...
A lot of advice and questions already given so I won't overwhelm you with more just yet. I'll just comment on some things others have said.
I agree with Jonathan that the Alk conversion is showing it to be too low still. As for "just add baking soda" I'd like to give some more info on this...
Vermetids are a nuissance IMO. I have a bunch of them too and I just recently started breaking them off with a scalpal blade and trashing them. Their webs start bothering neighboring corals so out they go.
Hey Shawn, I'd like to stop by after work one night and pick out a few frags. Can you pm me your address and phone number so I can contact you about setting up a meeting date/time?
Aww, you got me all excited when you said "South Jersey". Those stores are more Central than South and too far for me unless I happen to be in the area. :frown:
Sorry to hear about the Naso Steve. It's one thing to lose a fish, even worse when you don't know why.
I think if you took Xavier's advice and just started all over... you will have a beautiful tank running in a few months. You know there are plenty of people around here who will help...
I agree with Matt too. I'd also suggest keeping an eye on the clowns too. When they start looking for a place to lay eggs, they tend to dig up the sand and sorta hollow out space below their chosen spot. In a nano this could easily cause cloudy water due to the small water volume.
That is one sweet piece! And wow, the lights look great in the FTS. I'm sure it looks even better in person too.
I'll make it over there someday I hope. ;)
That's kind of why I was asking for a pic of the sump and barrels together... to see if you could have it discharge at a higher level. Glad you could pump into the fuge instead... should work out perfectly.
I've been using the TLF 150 reactor for mine with an MJ1200. Only "mod" I did was to remove the sponges and use the mesh instead. Mine has been keeping a steady, slow tumble ever since I started it up about 3 weeks ago. I'm hoping it keeps going like that. I did not add any bacteria as I...
Hard to tell since the pics are a bit blurry... but could it be a sponge maybe? They grow in many different colors and are usually more fuzzy.
Also, where are you located? If you live down south, I can give you some Chaeto for your fuge.
