    Entire tank contents for donation

I didn't even notice this month's meeting was down south. Glad I saw this because I almost missed it. If the fiance didn't already make plans, I'll try to be there. Phil, why are you emptying your entire tank? Are you getting out?

    Clownfish Log

Awww, that's sad news Phil. Sounds like that lil shortcut might have been the problem, so it might not be a good idea to do that again. If they were all full bellied and all had a red spot, then it's possible it's either what they ate and/or couldn't digest. It certainly isn't that they didn't...

Need Help with a Sump Mine has a leak and need a new one Maid

Cool. If you need a hand, just let me know. I'm at work and only 8 minutes away from your house. I could be there a little after 5:00 if you need me.

Thanks for the reply mnat. Yea, I've heard plenty of stories of these getting out of control... which is why I plan on keeping an eye on it. I wasn't aware of them stinging you though, so that was good info.

Gotcha. Not a bad idea! ;)

Very nice. Glad to see more fish are making it this batch. Looks like you are learning on the job. 8)

Need Help with a Sump Mine has a leak and need a new one Maid

Do you have the core bits that match the bulkheads? If you do, then it shouldn't be too hard to drill them in acrylic. Much easier than glass anyway.

That's a fine piece of work there Dan. That should do the trick!

Tim's 75G RR [Lots of Pics]

I took another pic tonight, but only the actinics were on and it didn't come out too good. I'll take another tomorrow... seems I'll probably be home with all the snow we are getting. ;D Your Loc-Line looks like it's the same size as your cutout. If you look at mine again, you can see that the...

Thanks Phil! Yea, I fell in love with him as soon as I saw him. Below is a really old pic, so the GSP isn't shown here, but this is the area I placed it. If you look below and to the right of the highest clownfish, you will see a sideways v shaped crevice (looks like this... > ) where the rock...

    Clownfish Log

That's why all of my suggestions are questions, haha. I just thought that if the higher sg helped when there is ammonia... and you are constantly battling ammonia, then why not just keep it slightly higher. But if that affects the breathing ability, then maybe it's not such a good idea afterall...

Tim's 75G RR [Lots of Pics]

No problem Tim. Gurgling noises are usually coming from the standpipes, so I can see where you assumed that's what I meant. I'll try to put up another pic tonight to show what I do to keep mine quieter. That might give you an even better understanding of what I mean. PS, sorry to hijack your...

    Clownfish Log

Phil, this is a fantastic progress report log you have going here. I know what you mean by being so busy you forget things after a couple days, so try to keep in the habit of recording everything here as soon as and as often as you can. I realize you have plenty to keep you busy besides this...

Gotcha. Maybe I should just keep tabs on the clownfish log instead then. ;) Would love to see pics of the metamorphosis stage.

Tim's 75G RR [Lots of Pics]

Tim, my noise isn't coming from the standpipe, that's actually pretty silent. My noise is just coming from water flowing into the overflow section around the Loc-Line fitting as the return pipe goes over the top of the overflow wall (well, actually, through it, but its near the top of the wall.)...

    Hawkeye's AGA 120

Phil, finding this thread for the first time. While I admit I didn't read every post completely because I'm at work and don't have the time, I skimmed through pretty good. I have to agree with Bax on the point about having at least some survive in every batch. It seems like you are continually...

+1 for the rock work. Great job! Are those 2 filter sponges in the front left corner? Just curious, what's that all about?

Tim's 75G RR [Lots of Pics]

Nice tank Tim. I have a 75G corner overflow also, looks exactly like yours. I have a question... do you hear a gurgling noise as the water goes through your overflow where the LocLine exits? I do because my return pipe is slightly smaller than the cutout and water rushes through on either side...

Eh, I knew I was too tired last night. That was a replacement for "Manny", not Herman. I'm still looking for another yellow watchman goby to replace Herman.

Here's a small update... it's too late to post the details I normally give, so here goes the short version. I tried to use a JBJ ATO controller to prevent my skimmer container from overflowing. I set all the floats perfectly and everything worked as it should when I tested it. However, the...
