Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Heh, when Lincoln was President? I think we get the hint on that one.
I didn't mean to fault you for not saving the fish... it's just sad that (from what I've been reading) some of those fish are "difficult" to captive breed (bangai for example) and yours are spawning often. It would be nice if...
Haha, well then I guess you need to document how to make one and make your own link! ::) Just kidding.
I'm sure I'll be able to find enough info out there to get into brine farming soon. I think I'd like to learn a bit more about the process before I start taking on building stuff for it...
Mike, that is good news! If you are looking for a home for the baby watchman, I'm actually looking for a replacement for mine that didn't make it after an injury. Let me know if you don't plan on keeping it. ;D
Paul, that's just sad that all those potential babies don't have anywhere to grow...
Sounds like a Star Wars episode. :D
If you don't have a link, then I guess I can find it the old fashioned way (Google) and find some help on the entire subject. I'll need to get some info on everything like building the hatchery, finding the eggs to start with, proper conditions of the water...
Yea, I figured you probably just threw it in there to set it up quick, but were going to hide it a lil better later. But thought I'd mention it just in case. ;)
So, did you get the LED's already and are working on setting them up? Or are you working on getting them still?
Ahh, thanks Mike and Paul. So is the dark section covered so the only light is through the tube, coming from the other chamber?
Is there a link to show me how to build/setup one of these? Thanks in advance! :)
Well, most of the corals in my tank are fairly new (well, new to my tank but they are mature specimens), but I've been feeding them a mixture of frozen mysis and cyclops. I chop up and thaw a cube of each with some salt water, then target feed a small amount to every coral that looks "hungry"...
Looking good. Almost ready to be stocked!
Just an observational question, but are you going to leave your heater & thermometer in the main tank like you have it, or is that just temporary? I like to put my heater in the sump and the thermometer in the overflow section, and stuck to the glass...
Richie, you might find This Site helpful. It's a FAQ on casting with plastic resins. There's a list of links to suppliers at the bottom of the page too.
I browsed around on the supplier sites and discovered a lot of good info on different types of materials available at Douglas & Sturgess...
Have to agree with Wendy. The way you designed your "shelving" will allow easy placement and display of your show pieces!
Wish I had some nice flat rock like that.
That's a good point there Mike. With all the explaining I did above, I forgot to explain what to do in order to make the fix, heh.
However, if you can get your hands on some flex pipe before you make the changes, that might be a good idea too.
You could cut the overflow drain line a few inches...
I'm registered on that site, but haven't visited there much since I joined NJRC.
The admins are very nice there and have personally sent me PM's thanking me for my participation on their site. Now I feel bad, I've sort of abandoned them. :-[
Haha! Yea, family does have benefits... some times. ;)
Just thought I'd mention that the video I posted shows installing a gasket on both the inside and the outside of the barrel. You probably only have the one as most only come with one. Put it on the inside as I said above. You don't need...
I have 3 parts to this reply, so I will color code to make reading them easier.
First off, that sounds like the problem right there. The gasket forms the seal to keep water from dripping through the bulkhead, so it needs to be on the inside where the water is. Take the bulkhead off, put the...
