Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I could be totally wrong because I don’t know much, but I also thought that Nassarius were warm water snails. I’m assuming your catch was local...NJ waters. I never knew we had Nassarius here. Are you sure they are not Whelks. The difference is that the Nassarius will bury itself in the sand...
Anthony, I’m willing to bet the “slugs” you found in your tank were actually Stomatella snails. They have a slug-like appearance, only having a partial shell on their backs. Google Stomatella to look at pictures to see if that is what you have. FYI, they are good.
Three baffles should eliminate bubbles.
I’m not sure of the model number of the MTC, but it’s about half submerged in the sump. Here’s a picture that will show how deep it’s in.
I apologize in advance for the questions, but just trying to eliminate possible causes.
Is the beckett right side up? Did you include the flow diverter inside the beckett? How are you controlling the air being drawn into the beckett? Does that have a valve on it? A 12K gph would still drawn in...
Lord, I am also confused by the eight inch outlet. The beckett type skimmer that I am familiar with is the MRC. For this skimmer to function properly, it has a gate valve on the outlet side. You control the function of the skimmer by micro turns of this gate valve. If the outlet is wide open...
James, don’t mean to highjack…by the way, I’m into the marital arts…much more difficult and painful than martial arts…you still get belts, but they usually turn black and blue. ;D
Anyway, I tore my meniscus about two years ago on the soccer field. The surgeon was able to get away with just...
You will be happy with the glass-holes overflow. We put the 1500 gph in a 90 gallon tank. Here’s the Tale-of-the-Tank thread:

I’m not sure what you are questioning, but you only need one kit and I would suggest...
Wow…detail, detail, detail. Very nice!
I too was into model building when I was young...I was into plastic cars and airplanes that were built with balsa wood and covered with special paper and dope. I would show you pictures but my model building phase was shortly followed by a firecracker...
The comment is questioning whether or not the bulkheads are threaded connections (npt=national pipe thread) OR glued up. The comment about purple is that some cleaners used for glued up connections leave their purple die on the pipe…you know you have good coverage of the cleaner. It looks like...
I don’t know, I’m seeing all that purple pvc cleaner around the bulkheads. That would suggest that they are slip, not npt. Either way, you do have to be careful not to over tighten a bulkhead. That could actually cause leaking by creating fissures in the rubber seal as it “grabs” the glass and...
