I can take a shot at a your questions:
SAW: Plexiglass (acrylic) can be cut with woodworking tools. Because you are bonding one cut edge to another flat piece of acrylic, a perfect straight cut is needed. That is, a table saw, radial arm saw or circular saw with a straight edge is needed. ...
Yea, but boiling the rock only makes sure its double dead ???. If there are any critters in the rock, it could cause for a nitrate/nitrite spike in the tank as it decomposes. Realize, I know what Im talking about; I speak with great ignorance; its my specialty!
I would still boil the rock...
What are your water parameters? I have to agree with Birds, my candycane is about halfway down (8”-9” below the water) and under T-5’s. It’s doing just fine. I’d be looking at something else other than just T5’s. I’d be looking at water parameters, how long do you leave the lights on, and if...

OOOOH….what “beverage” did that take to get the wife talking like that? I need to know. If you let me know that, damn, I come build the tank for nothing :o!
Thank you Andy and Jeanne for allowing a bunch of strangers to traipse through your house. Good food, great tank, fabulous talks about cement and photos, nice house and a whole group of reef-crazy people. Thank you once again.
